Trouble In A Pair Of Eyes

There is trouble in a pair of eyes.
Clearly exposing,
Making futile attempts trying to hide,
A reality many have begun to realize...
Deception to smother under,
The telling of incredible told lies.
No longer could been hidden.
Behind a fiction as if easily to circumcise.
A truth to end and toss away.
To have it deluded to remain and stay.

Not only trouble appears,
In those pair of cloaked and aging...
Corrupted lieing eyes.
Even those trusted giving their support.
And then thrown under a bus.
Gave up to give more of their loyalty.
Feeling they had to; feeling they must.
Turn their backs to rush to the nearest exit.
To save what was left of their credibility.
Most of it crushed.
Busted under a bus.

Since what had begun to be,
Too overwhelming to deny or disbelieve.
How they were abused.
And willing to be made into fools.
When the proof and evidence of facts,
They could no longer go on...
Tolerating having an appetite for that.

Yet confessed they did,
Of allowing themselves consciously...
To become assesories to activities.
Criminal and corrupted.
This at one time for them then did not matter.
Whether known or not.

But...
Admitted they did eventually,
It had been the status to have it.
And attention to get.
Was an opportunity to grab.
As fast as possible.
The addiction of it they could not quit.
With power to flaunt it they could not resist!

And...
Well,
After one taste.
With it quickly to digest.
They too became victims of selfishness.
Feeling worthy to be noticed.
Worthy to be praised
Until they were summoned.
To appear in court.
Sobered enough not to plead the 5th.
Hoping to be pardoned.
Hoping to be dismissed to assume it that way.
But the law was not on their side.
To protect their blinded lieing eyes.

Since...
No one with that authority,
Sat in that position with the power to do it!
With a promising of it to do already done!

'Your Honor?
We only did what we did to do.
Because we were told,
To prove our loyalty and devotion!
With a doing to pledge our allegiance.'

'And that would be to what country?
Politically speaking, of course!
With a touch of unavoidable democracy.
You had not mentioned!'

'We...
Your Honor?
We...'

'Yes?
And as a warning,
I am telling you now.
The country of France...
In this court, I do not want to hear.
Anyone confessing their loyalty,
To another country.
Again...
Your allegiance is to what country!'
