Me and My Bottle

I’m down to my last friend,
Could this be the end,
Of my dreams.

One by one they went away,
Friendship wasn’t reason enough to stay,
It seems

But you were always there,
Though things may seem unfair,
Or by any means.

My and my bottle,
We go places together.

When I drink from this bottle,
I can stand the stormy weather.

Yes, my bottle,
Can make things better.

About this poem

This is one of my early poems that was written years before the date that is listed. It goes back to a time when there were few responsibilities, and the priorities were alcohol, girls, and rock music. It was also a time when I had moved to "the big city" and begin slowly losing contact with my friends that I grew up with.
