Journeys

Jackie Newport 1952 (Chicago)

Where are we going
We don't always know
How will we get there
There's a lot of choices
How are we to decide
A thorny question at best
Sometimes we make the choices
Sometimes others make them for us
Other times fate intervenes
No matter, we get there eventually
Then we wonder was it worth the effort
Life is always full of roads not taken
Sometimes we wish we would have gone
The other way, or waited until later
We never know where life will lead us
But who wants to know everything
That lies in wait for us
Down the road and in the future
We might question our choices
Perhaps even have some regrets
But that's a part of life
And we don't always get to choose
Every little thing along the way
So life is a journey
Enjoy it while you can
