Admiration

I stop to see your garden,
It is vivid and complex.
I hear familiar buzzing,
So I follow with swift steps.

Standing by the path beside
Are yellow crape myrtle trees.
And hanging from the largest branch—
A hive of honeybees.

Frothy, fertile florets,
Yielding fragrances sublime.
I wander and become absorbed,
Oblivious to the passing of time.

And if I seek perfection
I will never be content.
Although, your garden grows so marvellously—
It must be heaven-sent.

And at some point I wander away,
Trailing leaves behind.
So you won’t know that I have been here,
Inside your golden mind.
