a poet without words

i can’t write happy poems
i cant write stupid happy poems about how you make me feel
i don’t have the words for it
i love your stupid laugh
i love your stupid smile
i love your stupid everything
but still
i cant write happy poems
i look back and every single one is about this longing
this empty feeling
but i’ve found my person
and the empty feeling is gone
so here i am
a poet
without words
because i feel so complete
unlike anytime before

About this poem

This poem is in the perspective of a person who came from a broken place and used poetry and writing as a way to cope with how they felt. They lived their life knowing their only need was to be truly loved by someone and when it happens for them it’s unexplainable because it’s so beautiful.
