Catalyst

Charles Fields II 1955 (Fort Bragg, NC)

As i walk amidst the falling mists

Navigating among the rising hills

To a point of alignment to a distant star
Full of energy, thrilled to be alive and well

Dancing between cloud shadows

Leaving impressions in my wake
Of broken thoughts of dreams, i talk to

Of rustled leaves and broken twigs

Of long forgotten things left unresolved
If could have been becomes will be

Of a presence not to be denied
Prior curiosity pursued, once more renewed

Tried passageways, releasing locks
Looking deeply through the skies

Through a forest of echoes

Thoughts come to life, once more
Adrift upon a river of sighs,

Who am i
To pose questions?
To be malcontent

Of yet unseen visions
Yet never know why

What passes for wisdom

Save what nature
Provides
