Dark Mysteries

From the east came certain dark mysteries
the silence absorbed simply overwhelmed

From non existence to a breeze to a wind
began blowing west hard and fast

Children in fear pressed faces
upon spotting window glass

Darkness crawled up and over the mountains from blue to blackened orange clouds thunder cracking to the ground

Gently left me wondering to the sound of drips in an instant

As we listened gently rose a tempo
as it grew raging mad

Beating upon this hypnotic drum
Along beside me as I sat
made a line to cross at an edge

Just beneath a cafe top swelled & dry
with coffee dreams this dark mystery
the thunder gained attention to its tune

Stopping all, a reason to stay
brought us together out of its way

Then to end with drops dripping
simply to admire

This Dark Mystery running through
cracks in a roof, to our thoughts

Now gone carried away
