Looking

He drives into the light
While looking for the darkness.
Eyes wide,
What can he find?
What he’s looking for.
Because seek and you shall find.
You’ll find what you’re looking for,
But it won’t be what you’ve wanted

You misbehave,
Now you’re a slave.
Turned slaver into slave.
You misbehaved,
Now you’re a slave.
Turned slaver into slave.

It’s a shame,
We get stuck on the same page.
Progression leading to regression.
It’s an obsession without intention.
Suspension without tension.
A free fall into nothing.
Because nothing we become
When we become slaves to our sins.
It feels like nothing we’ve become.

Less than a man.
A lesser man that needs a lesson man.
A love that understands.
A helping hand.
A light at the end of the tunnel.
Cuz we’ve all been funneling lies too long.
We’re all singing a sad song.

A love lost,
Gone.
People we love,
Including ourselves,
Gone.

What’s left is a shell.
Battle hardened and bruised.
But a hard, hard shell remains.
Getting in is a pain.
We don’t want to go through it again.
Again and again.
And over again.
Will it ever end?

How much money can I spend?
I gotta a pretty big hole to fill.
Fill it up with all the pretty things.
All the pretty liars.
The short time suppliers.

True happiness costs your life.
And I don’t know how to get around that.
Not on my own.
Not without help.
I need a giver.
A law maker.
A creator.
Because I want to be a receiver.
I’m a needer.
A needer of love.
And just like the rest of us,
I can’t get enough.
And I can’t get it from us.
It comes from above.
