LIFE & PURPOSE

Elizabeth Njeri Waweru 1991 (Naivasha)

What's your purpose?
Ever thought about it?
You were uniquely made,
Could it've been for nothing?

The universe is greatness,
And you're a part of it,
Your input was necessary,
Does it matter to know?

To know why you matter,
Do you matter for you?
Or function for others,
For your happiness or of others?

Have you found it yet?
Or are you still searching?
For the moment that clicks,
The gasp of, this was it.

Are we simply made to live?
If yes, live for who
Ourselves? that can't right,
Social needs are basically basic.

If it's to live,
For ourselves or others,
Then do we live one life?
Or many lives in peaces?

For each person a life,
For another, another life,
The more people you live for,
The more lives you live.

Think of people you've met,
Some you can't recall,
Each with a different version of you,
How we live in other people.

For ourselves it's different,
For each life is a season,
Good seasons and bad,
For choice to live, a life.

I've been at crossroads,
Where I felt the choice,
To live or not to live,
For everytime I chose to live, a life.

It's the big unknown,
A delicate thread to pull,
For if we tasted purpose,
Time'd become more precious.

For life may not be short,
May be we don't live once,
Maybe we'd live more,
If we worried less and lived more.
