All Knowing Ever Present
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
For You had formed my inward parts,
Knitted me in my mother’s womb;
Until my one body departs,
When I am resting in my tomb.
I praise You as fearfully made,
For my soul knows it very well;
Of darkness, I am not afraid,
Sojourning where I now do dwell.
My frame was not hidden from You,
And was being made in secret;
Curiously wrought to pursue,
Pleasing You through all my merit.
Your eyes have been seeing delight,
Although I am not quite perfect;
I am still a blessing in Your sight,
In Your book, You did not reject.
How precious of me are Your thoughts,
Continuance of Your fashion;
Watching us grow since we were tots,
Caring love with such a passion.
How precious of Your thoughts of me,
And how vast is the sum of them;
Please search my heart and You will see,
There is nothing there to condemn.
I am with You as I’m awake,
My thoughts are more than grains of sand;
For I know You will not forsake,
As I keep thoughts on each command.
