The Bastard Child

I think back to when i was nine,
think back to that awful day.
The day when it was taken away,
the day he took "it" away.
I deserved it.

When I saw the hill I always cried.
I knew when I saw hell hill.
Nobody ever came to help me.
Nobody ever came to set me free.
I’m the bastard child

Why when you ask for help by,
Mom and Grandma, they do nothing.
I’m told to keep it quiet.
I was called the bastard child.
I had to be punished.

I see him in the shadows,
even while I'm at home.
I close my eyes and pray he's gone,
only then I can't help but feel him.
I was a bad seed.

To this day I feel him, when I sleep.
his tight grip on my neck.
The pressure of his body
as I tried to resist.
I deserved my fate.

He continued to tell me it will feel good,
Never tell anyone because,
No one will believe me
It didn't matter how loud I screamed,
Nobody came to help me.
Nobody came to set me free.

About this poem

How being the bastard child growing up gave the right to have my uncle hurt me and no one did anything about it. The fact the women in my family wanted it kept quiet.
