My Life In Reverse

These poems I write, LIVE BY FIGHT,
Packing a punch, like bolts of lightning.
They may sound scary, and a little bit frightening,
But they're real and come straight from my core.

My stories are not like any other tale,
They're gritty, raw, and you can almost smell,
The smoke from the fires I've put out,
From battling my demons, without a doubt.

Every word I write and every story I tell,
Comes from within and my journey through hell.
My past has taught me so much, it's hard to breathe,
But I fight to break free from these walls and believe.

Growing up wasn't easy, always screwing up,
Abandoned by my father at just three weeks old,
Beaten by my stepdad, with no one to hold.
I asked the Lord to take me, as tears rolled down my face,
But here I am, still standing, in spite of my past pain.

My life's been a curse, but I fight to break the chains,
I got out of the hood, but lost it all again.
My ex was a psycho, who broke my ribs and my heart,
But I ran so far, had to lose it all, to make a new start.

There's so much more that I can't take,
Tragedies and losses, that make my heart ache,
But I keep walking, not scared of feds or dirt,
For the battles I've fought, have left me with some worth.

So these poems I write, LIVE BY FIGHT,
Not just for me, but for anyone in sight,
Who struggles to break free from the chains,
And fight for their life, despite all the pains.

About this poem

Only bits and pieces of a darkest path, To own it, yet get over it, like washing dirt off in a bath. To understand how negatives can turn positive and that all depends on you, We all make our own life no matter what we've been through. So on those days that when they come and you're at your very low. Take this as your strengths you need and use it to help you grow. For life is never perfect, fools are cruel so remain kind, Stand tall enough to catch yourself even if you hit rewind.
