An Empty September

I dream of a September;
Filled with crunch of leaves, smell of rain.
Warm raindrops on your face, puddles all around us;
Wet fluffs, foggy skies, misty mornings.
That longing for a fireplace with a warm drink in hand;
A shoulder to lean on and you.

Instead I am welcomed with hollow hearts;
Empty promises, hands that have grown numb, tears that have tried.

Alone, I walk;
In a graveyard of dreams and hopes;
On an empty September.
