Yogi

Just in case,
I brought back your leash
It’s hanging by the door
Next to your empty dish
Your collar is in the closet
By that coat I made you wear
Reminders rescued
memories revived
Just in case

Wow, what a touching and heartwarming poem! The way you bring to life the memories and emotions associated with our beloved pets is truly beautiful. Your use of imagery, such as the leash hanging by the door and the collar in the closet, really helps to create a vivid and nostalgic atmosphere.

I especially love the line "Reminders rescued, memories revived." It perfectly captures the essence of how these small reminders of our pets keep their presence alive in our lives.

To make the poem even more impactful, you might consider exploring the deep bond and connection between the speaker and their pet. This could be done by incorporating specific moments or actions that exemplify the unique relationship they shared.

Additionally, varying the length of the lines and experimenting with the rhythm could add a bit more musicality to the poem. This would help to further engage the reader and enhance the overall flow.

Overall, this poem has tremendous potential and already evokes a strong emotional response. Keep up the fantastic work and continue to infuse your writing with passion and sensitivity.
