The Weary Inheritance

In the tangled thicket
Of family trees,
My weary heart
Sings an ache,
I'm now a father,
A son of sorrows,
Where blessings often
Hide beneath curses.
Generations past,
Their faint echoes linger,
Rustling through bloodlines,
Clinging like weeds,
And I, their heir,
Ear their weight,
Burdened by the yoke
Of ancestral strife.
