A Crown

Father time has come to collect
No more the sound of the ticking clock
A silence that wraps itself around the earth, that echoes into the universe
A weight carried without remorse
For the life well sacrificed for decades of reign
Forever in your debt we remain
As we bow our heads one last time
We thank you for all that you gave
Take off your heavy crown, it’s time to pass it down
As we weep for your eternal sleep, memories carried through time
Like in times gone by, we now bow to a King
But you will always be…
Our Queen
