Flickering Light

Sherry L Munsell 1971 (Baldwin park)

"FLICKERING LIGHT"
THE NIGHT SKY IS FILLED WITH BRIGHT STARS              AND I'M WONDERING WHERE YOU ARE.
I CAN SEE YOU TWINKLE SO BRIGHT,
AND I JUST WANT TO SQUEEZE YOU EVER SO TIGHT.
THE MOON IS HIGH, AND THE VALLEY IS LOW              BUT STILL I CAN SEE YOUR GLOW.
I PRAY TO THE LORD TO NOT LET GO.
FOR MY NIGHTS WOULD BE DARK WITHOUT YOUR GLOW.
AND AS THE NIGHTS TURN INTO DAY,
I LOOK TO THE SUN TO CATCH YOUR rAY.
A rAY SO BRIGHT AND WITH ALL IT'S MIGHT,
IT'S WARM HANDS I FEEL ALL DAY.

AND AT THE DAY'S END I LOOK, TO SEE YOU
TWINKLE ONCE AGAIN..
