Troubled Waters

I cannot see the sunshine
When my darkness settles in
This battle raging in my mind
Grows louder once again
I cry out for your help
Because you are my only friend
I need to find some peace now
So that healing can begin

I simply need you near to me
There are no words to speak
You are always strong, while
I feel useless, small and weak
With beauty that’s beyond compare
Your company I seek
And only when you’re close to me
Does my world feel complete

Please stay here beside me
Till the darkness fades away
Promise me that you won’t leave
At least not till it’s day
Keep me safe and keep me warm
Until I am okay
And I will do the same for you
Should you need me, someday.

About this poem

I wrote this from the view of someone needing their best friend, be it a person or a vise, at a low point in life.
