Social Media

Social Media
Scroll ,scroll, scroll
Lost in a digital world
Time pass away
And I am wasting my day
 Like, comment, share, subscribe!
 Press the Bell Icon
 Tempting empty affirmation
In a world of endless feeds
 my thoughts slowly recede
I am connected to my device
When my real life is paying its price
In this social world
friends become pixels on the screen
News ,memes, Posts
But what I really get
 From this constant entertainment
As I’m wasting my time
In this online world
And neglecting my own family and friends
So I just unplug and disconnect
Trying to control my mind
And living in the moment
Before social steal my precious moments.

About this poem

This poem reflects on the addictive and time-consuming nature of social media, and how it can often distract us from our real-life connections and experiences. It highlights the constant need for validation and affirmation that social media can create, and the importance of unplugging and living in the present moment. Ultimately, the poem encourages readers to be mindful of their social media use and to prioritize their relationships and personal well being.
