Pretty faced monster

Pretty faced monster

Someone brought up your name today
and my mind took me back to the days
days, before we parted our ways.

All those memories we made together,
almost made me feel like we were meant to be with each other.

Oh! how i wish that naive, little heart of mine,
knew about that hidden monster behind that face so fine.

he made me wear those rose coloured glasses
before he burnt my heart into ashes

He made his way into my heart and broke my shell,
before turning it into my own personal hell

Wish I could go back in time,
and save that younger self of mine,
from that pretty face with a monster hidden behind.

About this poem

That moment of the bittersweet realisation that all good things aren't what they appear to be.That it's just a cover to hide the monster underneath that pretty face who wants nothing more than ruining you.
