Flowers are Not Forever

Luke Speller 2007 (Texas)

Ode

Grass here is brown
When the sun goes down
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
But they say you go blind as you get older

So when we look at nature
And think it something from a prayer
We must keep in mind that God
Needs no protection but nature requires us to guard

Flowers are not forever
They’re something we should always treasure
Flowers are not forever
We must forget that, never
