A forest full

A forest full of the tallest tree.
The moon hung high above their canopy.
The nights wind blew a gentle melody.
But beneath lay a different story.

A forest full of duff and debris.
The land lay scattered with weaponry.
Among the dead lay a wounded knight.
His body lay beaten in the dead of night.

A forest full of scenery.
What a beautiful sight to see.
The mist crept in tired of waiting.
To engulf the man and his aching.

A forest full of hurt and wailing.
To reflect on a life of training.
A single tear rolled down his cheek.            In the end he was too weak.

A life full of pain and agony.
His memory then jolted suddenly.
Of the times of joy and times of peace.
Tears filled his eyes as he embraced decease.

About this poem

I wrote this poem in my bed at like 1:am on a school night. I enjoy it as i believe it expresses much of my interest in natural beauty and knights. It also explores a theme of reflection and death aswell which i find rather cool.

Conor Cashman

Im a young dude living in Ireland who has a big interest in movies, art, videogames, music and literature as I love exploring the deeper meaning behind and fully understanding the skill, time and work needed to fully construct these masterpieces. Apart from that im a good student and succeed well in geography and English but I feel like a regular job isn't for me when I eventually leave my school. I also play sports like rugby and a bit of footy sometimes aswell as working out ( But i could definitely do that some more tbh ) more…
