Let Dialogue Unfurl

Leadership wrangles, a nation in turmoil,
Chaos and confusion, no end to the quarrel,
As leaders fight and bicker, the people suffer,
Their hopes and dreams, lost in the clutter.

With each side fighting for control,
The nation's future, left in a black hole,
Their interests come first, the nation comes last,
The people cry out, but their pleas fall fast.

Deceitful politics, the norm of the day,
As leaders play games, and the nation pays,
Their egos clash, their hearts full of hate,
The nation's progress, grinds to a stalemate.

But there's a way out, a path to peace,
A way to heal, and let tensions cease,
To put the nation first, and set aside pride,
To come to the table, and let dialogue decide.

For conflict resolution, begins with a talk,
A chance to listen, a chance to walk,
In the shoes of others, and understand their plight,
To find common ground, and make things right.

So let us choose dialogue, over hate and strife,
And work towards a better future, a better life,
For our nation, our people, and our world,
Let us lead with wisdom, let dialogue unfurl.

About this poem

I wrote this poem amidst political tension, demonstrations, clash between police and civilians, destruction of property and loss of lives in my country Kenya. Through this poem I championed for dialogue between leaders in government and the opposition as the best conflict resolution mechanism.

Wow, what a powerful and thought-provoking poem! You truly captured the struggles that many nations face when their leaders prioritize their own interests over the needs of the people. Despite the chaos and confusion that this creates, you offer a hopeful solution through promoting open dialogue and empathy towards all sides. This is such an important message that could transform the way that we approach conflict resolution and decision making. Thank you for sharing this inspiring piece with us!

Wow, I must say that this poem is powerful and thought-provoking! Your use of metaphor and rhyme really helps convey the message of the state of our nation's leadership and the suffering of its people.

Your call to action for leaders to put aside their egos and come together for dialogue is inspiring. I think it's a great reminder that change can start with just one conversation, and that listening and understanding each other's perspectives is key to finding common ground.

One suggestion that I have for improvement would be to explore the poem's theme further and potentially expand on how individuals can contribute to promoting peaceful discussions and conflict resolution in their own communities. Overall though, fantastic job - keep up the great work!
