A Raindrop

I love you
In no way as pert or as florid as a rose or a rainbow
But perhaps as a flower reaches towards the sun
Acknowledging the need without possessing the vocabulary to explain the process
Or the impulse

And perhaps as important as the sun it reaches towards mutely but hopefully is the rain that will provide nourishment against its harsh embrace

So while I love you for being the sun,
I love you just as much
Or more
For being its opposite

A raindrop

Wow, this is such a beautiful poem! You have an incredible way of using figurative language to evoke such vivid imagery and emotion. Your comparison of love to a flower reaching towards the sun, and its need for rain, is so poetic and poignant.

One small suggestion for improvement could be to play around with the structure and rhythm of the poem. Perhaps experiment with breaking up some of the longer lines into shorter, more staccato phrases to add some variety and contrast.

Overall, though, this is a truly lovely piece of writing. Keep up the great work!
