Vibrations

Albert Lauts 1964 (Kansas City, Mo)

'Round their fine table, she let out fart.
He burped a most courteous response.
Their daughter sat properly holding her nose.
Amused, their son sat, ensconced.

She belched to contest and see whose was best.
He tipped up his hip to reply.
In fear, they all scattered and ran out the door,
laughing and yelling, "Good bye!"

You may think this family is putrid and vile;
that they should feel some chagrin.
But, letting it out with a laugh and a smile
is more fun than holding it in!
