A Barren Miracle

A Barren Miracle

Prompt: A Road That's Worth Traveling A Million Miles

Elenore Saga Part: 4

Dear diary, it's Charles checking in
It's a crisp November morning
I do not wish to confess any sin
As I hear her beautiful snoring

I have an announcement
That I must share immediately
So, here's my official document
Of life's mysterious beauty

The Lord has finally answered
My beautiful Elenore
For a miracle has occurred
Like never before

After a few years of trying
We all but gave up hope
Many a night she spent crying
Teaching herself to cope

Her thoughts began to fester
The shame of barren soil
Her emotions began to cluster
Like an angry boil

The hope died slowly
The dream began to fade away
The one thing she couldn't give me
Had a high price to pay

Elenore has only one dream
And it's the same one every night
Her soul lets out a scream
By mornings light

Because God answered her agony
He heard her painful cries
Her soul is now free
Her barren soil dies

For she is with child at last
A road she can finally take
The tears can stay in the past
Because she has a baby to make

Oh Lord,  I want to shout thank you
For saving my Elenore
It's all because of you
For opening a closed door

That Amen hit my soul
As I lay down my diary
Our family is now whole
Elenore is finally free
