Kelsey’s Poem

Here we are
Two years have passed
Two broken hearts
Still fighting to last

From a summer day
Collecting rocks and glass
To summer nights
Us, and some wine in a glass

You got the L word
My heart, my soul, all from your laugh
You caught me off guard
With those eyes and that ass

Through thick and thin
We’ve made it through
And I’d do it again
But be better to you

Because you deserve it all
Happiness, trust, security, to name a few
But when we hit a wall
All I can give is an “I love you”

I know I have failed you
Way too many times
But I swear this is true
I will change with this rhyme

I need to change before you are gone
I couldn’t live without you
You’re my love now, tomorrow, til the end of time

So please forgive me for the hurt I’ve caused
And I will be the man you need
Open heart, hand and with this clause

I nick vow to have your back from now on
To defend and protect
Love and respect
Forgive and forget
Provide and perfect
To infinity and beyond

About this poem

This is a poem I wrote one night out of desperation to show an ex girlfriend my love for her. She never read it.
