A Note To My Children

When I'm gone. I'm  never too far away, a whisper in the wind, a warm breeze off the coast where it shouldn't be. The buzzing bee annoying you so angrily. Listen to the earth. The wind and the trees. And never alone shall you ever be. I'll be in the sky and the deepest lake, shed no tears, don't cry for my sake. I'll be where I've always been from the very start, just as long as you keep me close in your heart.

About this poem

I constantly think of my 4 beautiful daughters that drive me to be a better man. And this poem sounds like a goodbye. But also a reminder that I've been there since day one. Even if they could only feel my presence and not see me. I'm here. And I'm only a text or a call away always!
