The Dirty Dog

The dirty dog
that plays away the day
runs free

I found it, the spot, the hole
wet and spongy
dark and dirty

rolling among the trees and shades
where the unknown roam
tongue lagging, tail wagging

The call, a clap, a whistle
homeward bound
happy kisses from me to the frown looked upon

what? no love for me
but I'm so happy
to be free and loved by thee

baths and bubbles
I've tried to avoid
washing away my day of play

curled, cuddled and wiped clean
dreams I chase
for tomorrow comes, another adventurous day!

This is a good poem and it proves that one can make poetry out of anything if one knows how to use language and subject matter.
One is to admire the tale that this poem tells, a fun and interesting one.
