For Her

So this is how it feels to fall
The time is really here
To take a giant leap of faith
And let go of my fear.

I guarded myself off for years
To keep from getting hurt
Because of people in my past
Who treated me like dirt.

But then I joined a dating app
With not an ounce of luck
I was alone and miserable
My life was truly stuck.

But then I sent a message to
A girl who touched my soul
Until I ran cause I was scared
It left a massive hole.

I let a couple weeks go by
Before I tried again
Apologizing for last time
How stupid I had been.

We picked up right where we left off
And have been going strong
I found my best friend in this world
It has been way too long.

She doesn't think that I'm just weird
We talk both night and day
She makes me want to take my fears
And throw them all away.

When I'm with her I'm comfortable
And never have to hide
She loves me just the way I am
And stays right by my side.

I love it when I hold her hand
And feel her squeeze it tight
Cause in that moment it is clear
My life has turned out right.

Whenever both of our lips meet
There's no way to prepare
For all the happiness in me
It almost isn't fair.

So when you find that right person
Your life just falls in line
My life these days is truly blessed
Because I call her mine.
