Ablaze
The ash and smoke were twisted together like rope;
It choked my neck as I watched the fire’s dance.
Her tongue of flames licked my quivering throat,
As I became frozen in time within a burning trance.
I remember her lips saying that they loved me the most,
But every searing kiss left me bleeding and scorched.
My eyes couldn’t look away, for I was bound to her post,
As my skin, she did slash, and this soul of mine torched.
I am gone; my body enveloped by her savage embrace.
The ghost of my cries above the heavens still raise
She even defiled my lifeless corpse by taking its face.
And in exchange for my starving heart, she set me ablaze.
