For My Military Husband

My love is strong, my commitment true
For my military husband, I'm so thankful and proud of you

Your uniform is crisp, your boots are shined
Your honor and bravery, I know are mine

Often away, but always near
Your strength and protection I treasure and hold so dear

You protect us, so selflessly
Your country, your family, and your love are the key.

Your trust in the oath that you swore
Is the strength that forevermore.

The flag is flying, you are off to serve
Your honor and courage, I can't deserve.

But I thank God each night in prayer
That you will come back safe and sound from there.

My heart feels strong, my love stays true
For my military husband, whom I love and adore for sure.

About this poem

In honor of the Husband’s Appreciation Day in 2023, I would like to dedicate this poem to my wonderful husband.

    It is as it should be. You've married a hero who offers to risk his life for the safety of others. That, on its own merit, is heroic. Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to someone so deserving and thank him for serving to protect others. Please do tell him I said thank you.
