A Tear

Brooke Saddler 1979 (New York)

I shed a tear
He's minutes away
I am left with only a picture for comfort.
Finding myself lost in my thoughts
I see his face
Caring, but obscure
I feel his touch
Eager, yet tempestuous.
He has my heart
I reach out for his
We intertwine.
I open my eyes
I come back to reality
Although left with only a picture for comfort,
He is there
Though not visible just yet
He is there
Someday he will make his return.
Only minutes away
I still shed a tear.

The hope of a return is seen in this, and the consolation for now is the picture.
The feelings are well-expressed in these verses.
    You've done well here.
