The Faith That Never Faltered

Kyris 2005 (Harare)

She stood alone, with faith that never faltered
In the face of persecution, she never altered.
Her heart was pure, her spirit  strong
But the world around her was cruel and wrong

They called her names, they called her a liar,
They burned her books, and set her spirit on fire.
They tried to break her, to make her conform,
But she stood tall, and she weathered the storm.

Her beliefs were not theirs, and that was all it took,
For them to treat her like she was an open book
They ripped her soul apart they tore her dreams
But she  held on tight, to the hope that gleams.

She prayed for strength, for courage to go on,
And for a world where she could belong.
But the world around her was filled with hate
And she was left to suffer, to mourn and to wait.

She never lost her faith, she never lost her way,
Even when the world seemed bleak and gray
She held in tight, to the hope that burned within,
And knew that one day, she would finally win

But until that day, she would fight on,
And hold her head high, until the darkness was gone
For she knew deep down, that her faith would prevail
And that one day, her story would be the tale
