Again…

Again…

We talked and got to know each other again.
We laughed and I got to see you smile again.
We held hands and I got to feel your touch again.
We hug and I felt your warmth again.

We said we should do it again.
But when we get to school, it’s like we’re not even friends.
You walk past me and don’t even say hi.
You look at me and still don’t say hi.
You talk to my friends and still don’t say hi.
But you talk to her, and you definitely say hi….

I don’t say anything because I’m conceited like that.
But I wish you would text me.
So I can text you right back.

I ask if you’re busy so we can chill again.
You say you are, and you’re honest about it.
But you don’t get in depth with your message to question why I even asked.

So I don’t say anything else.
I get to thinking again.
That maybe our chilling was just to see if we should even “talk” again.

I thought we had a good time.
You said we had a good time.
But  It’s like our chilling  never even happened.

But I think about it
I think about you .

Again and again.

Wishing my brain would stop spinning and stop focusing so much on you.

But it doesn’t and I find myself thinking about the chill again.

Thinking about how We laughed and I got to see you smile again.
Thinking about how We held hands and I got to feel your touch again.
Thinking about how We hug and I felt your warmth again.

Maybe it was all just pretend.

And you never really wanted to do it again…

About this poem

I wrote this poem after I had experienced something with my ex. I thought we could rekindle again, but I guess the world has other plans. So this was my way of expressing how I felt.

Hannah Williams

Heyy I’m a High-school senior here In Florida , class of 2023!!! The best year lol. I will be majoring in nursing and then going back to school to get my masters so that I can be a nurse practitioner. I love to write and to read. It’s like a whole different world a lot of people don’t know about. But, I’m glad I do because I don’t know how I lived without reading daily and writing daily. So many healthy and beautiful benefits to be honest. I want to make it a goal of mine to spread how much of a positive impact journaling can be. more…
