A Place in my Mind

I am from a place in my mind.
An ideal scene in my thoughts,
treasured by me alone.

This place of serenity that envelops me with its consoling embrace,
that transports me far away from my scattered thoughts.

Where I am welcomed by the soft breeze that strokes my skin and the nostalgic smell it carries,
as I wander across the rocks the ocean has not yet touched.

Where the waves dance with the wind and collide against each other with the same vigor as the rain that passed through not long ago.

Where my eyes rest across an endless view,
That makes me feel as free as the birds that glide across the scenery.

Where I am at ease, hot beverage in hand, flipping pages, listening to the paper rising and falling.

Existing, in this place in my memory.
This place in my mind.
This place that l am from.
