A New Day

Bonnie Barisa 1973 (Virginia)

A light leads the way
It’s time to start a new day
Brightness fills my heart
Cupid shot his dart
Life is different now
My love is afraid of the cow
Perfect things are not
But our love is hot
Together we will always be
We have already paid God’s fee
A miracle to each we are
I had wished upon a star

About this poem

There is a story about the cow. I took my husband back home where I am from and he helped feed the cows. He didn’t realize how big they were. He comes from the city and had only seen them from the road and thought they were only the size of a dog. He found out they are big and scary. It was and is hilarious to me.
