Epsom Salts

My wife will soak her feet
Takes away all aches and pains
From the day’s hard stressors met
From her age a-grumbling again.
Salt, an elemental thing
Drawn from sea or deep earth’s vein.
Nothing there of manufacture.
Nothing there of brain or toil.
Jesus called us life’s salt worthy
And the Devil’s works are foiled.
Salt will cleanse, preserve
And flavour.
Salt will brace the weary soul.
And Christ calls us
Salt for service
Guiding hearts to safe and whole.
