I HAVE TO GO

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

What is the shining light that is blinding the writer? What is the new path that the writer is taking? Who requires the writer as the lead in another show? What happens when you find everything you have been searching for, but the shining light starting to blind you is whispering in your ear? Keep marching. There is more.

I have left that path many times to travel down a different road because I liked the sound of the name that dangled from the street sign. It was like it was screaming out at me, and my compass was pointing me in that direction and, many times, leading me in the wrong direction.

I had my music on telling me that the sky would soon be turning blue and no longer will it carry a touch of grey; the song was telling me never again be led astray and to listen to what the universe has to say.

I have to go. I have been playing this part for so long that I have been an ongoing character, and now they need me as the lead in another type of show.

Do not cry; never feel sorry for the stars and planets that have aligned. I have to go for those things and people I thought I may have lost along the way, but I already have and did not know. However, I still have to find that place where I will take my forever rest, and I do not know whose arms I will die in or be buried. All I know is I am being called sorry; I must go.

I can not look back with any regret for those memories that I must forget but with the hope of those that will not say I have to go.

Learning to listen is a lifetime quest: recognizing your own voice and following its hints do not necessarily happen at the same time. Meanwhile, I am glad for you...
