Judgement

Who am I to be passed judgement upon
Of my dirty face and ragged clothes
Of my combless hair and shoes less feet
From whence I came you know not
Of the turmoil and pain bestowed upon me,
Of the days of hunger and sleepless nights
Of my swiveled head from reckless fright

Happiness once renowned
Of my two most precious gifts
Passed away through blazing eyes,
Smothered black of sooth and ash.
My cries of help was muffled sounds
Of captivating shock I came to know.
The Deaf, The Dumb, I do not mock
For their shoe was once on my feet

Here I am a wonderer,
Of thoughtful thoughts
And speechless sounds,
Yet you gaze upon me
With scornful eyes and shameful frowns
leave me not your sympathy
For survival is my basic instinct
The only friend I know
