Your Fallen Angel

Azraah Mohammed 2007 (Trinidad and Tobago)

You, who is the pinnacle of all that is good,
You, who laughs like newborn sunshine,
Angel wings outstretched
Towards eternity
As I watch from afar in awe.
You who has salvaged the broken pieces
Of my glass heart,
And wrapped my shattered soul
In your velvet wings
I wish to be cradled in your heart forevermore.

You, who smiles as blades penetrate your chest
You, who cries only in the moon's company,
Twinkling eyes rimmed with tears,
Dousing sweet serenity
As I watch from afar in agony.
You who I wish to protect with my life,
My soul, my all,
Let me dissolve your every impediment,
Even if I melt in the process,
I wish to cradle you in my heart forevermore.

Whether you see me matters not,
For I will be your fallen angel.
I will be your bridge, your torch
Your sustenance, if you wished it.
I am the eye that sees only your laughter,
Only your pain and desires.
Let me cradle you, hidden away
From the nasty world, never graced
By your radiance.
I am your most devoted believer forevermore.
