Mosaic

You are somewhere I am not,
You are;
So far away,
Why do you feel so close?

Deep in my bones,
I still feel you,
Every fibre of my being,
Still calling out for you.

Like the tide moving in and out,
You stalk my mind,
The wind howls your name,
The breeze smells like you.

I need help,
I need strength to move on,
I am so happy for you,
A half-truth through gritted teeth.

I need you.

About this poem

I wrote this after finding photos of someone I used to and still care about deeply. I hope it conveys the raw emotion I experienced while looking through the photos I found.
