As the alarm rings in the morning
I have to measure my tone
Carefully select the words to awaken you
I stop myself before saying one word
I take another glance and admire you
As you lay sleeping, I hear your breathing
Like our favorite beach sounds
Waves flowing in and out
I admire your face that peeks from under the covers.
Pure perfection.
How did I get so blessed.
I hold back tears of joy.
Before long, I gently clear my throat and with a soft soothing voice sing you our good morning song.
You slowly come out from underneath the covers
Turn and stretch out while reaching up and smiling all at the same time
I give thanks to God for you and waking up so beautifully
