Wake Up

Livinia 1985 (New hartford)

Wake Up

You wake up and look around.
You feel so cold and all alone.
You get up and walk to the window.
Outside, the world is dull and gray.
It reminds you of your life,
Day after day.
You take a deep breath and turn around.
And what you see makes your skin crawl.
You see yourself lying there,
And you think....
"I must be dreaming".
But then you spot it.
The empty bottle.
Your eyes move from the bottle to the bed,
And you realize you're looking at death.
Eyes wide open,
White as a ghost,
Your body lies there lifeless.
Then you think...
"37 and no one will miss me".
Guess what?....
They never even knew you were there.
