Christian Practice
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Always rejoice in the Lord,
Again I will say rejoice;
Show He is loved and adored,
Demonstrated with your voice.
Let moderation be known,
Knowing the Lord is at hand;
For you are never alone,
On a solid rock, you stand.
Be careful with anything,
Nor anxious on what will be;
Rather by what prayer will bring
Supplications within your plea.
Let requests be known to God,
He will be guarding your heart;
Through Jesus, honor, and laud,
Mystifying to impart.
Merely think about these things,
That exceeds understanding;
Whatever excellence brings,
That truth and purity cling.
Anything worthy of praise,
That would be honorable;
Being considered always,
That would be commendable.
What you have learned and received,
And that you have heard and seen;
Practice what you have believed,
The peace of God that has been.
