Movie “Unhinged”. Russell is a Baddy.

Doug Blair 1951 (London)

Yes I watched it all at seat’s edge
And couldn’t
Budge at all.
No sandwich or pee break.
Insistent cellphone call.

A Guy falls into road rage
In midst of awful day.
A woman gave him rudeness.
The chase was on, OK.

What followed, most on freeways
Collisions caused by him.
He kept her tail, no would not fail
Son backseat, terror’s victim.

A stop for gas, hoped he would pass.
No, turned he did to wait.
She left her phone, became his own.
Her friends’ list for his hate.

By now the News had tons of views
Of carnage in his wake
Could any cop cause him to stop?
Poor Momma’s sad mistake.

But Mom kept on, confusion gone
And led him, with a plan.
In setting grim, she jumped on him
And scissors got the man.

(Lots of crunch, tire squeal, bleed, sweat, morbidity…even a murder of her friend at a pancake house table…and finally a satisfying payback.)

About this poem

Road rage is a horrifying phenomenon in today’s rushed Society. Calm down. Don’t insist on being the one who is right or entitled. Live for tomorrow’s delights. And for the ones close to you…In past years I worked as Occupational Safety Guy in a steel fabricating plant. Most definitely I would have shown this movie at a session.
