Dogs of War

Got my gun, my bag and my vest
One last look at my ring
For this not the time to rest
Eager to know what this night will bring

One promise to my mother
I will always come back home
One promise to the other
I will give my life fighting for your throne

Heroes are born on a battlefield
And on it, they do die
Their might is humongous and their sacrifice unparelled
For they become history before they can even say goodbye

The best don't come back from war
Instead they stay and watch over from above
Pillars of the flag that they adore
And protectors of the country that was their first love
