I Live, Adopting Tragedy, Watching, Guiding Home
I live by the rivers of truth, they are like seasons.
Each river flows with various paths and feelings.
Currently, I can not accept the tragedy unfolding.
It's not sitting well with me for many reasons.
I live like a tree, stretching out for the love of light.
Each branch twisted, straight, perfect or broken.
Judgement comes, like a bitter wind, cold and stinging.
My leaves are falling, blowing out of my sight.
I live by a code like a rose, beautiful with thorns.
Each rose blossoms with purpose, to live beautifully.
Suddenly, I realize my thorns are out and sharp.
I am guarded, watchful, I feel like the devil with horns.
I live to love like an eagle that flies.
Each breeze takes me higher, farther, looking below.
Secretly, I am suffering, watching the ones that suffer.
Watching tragedy, but my hands have ties.
I live to lead, like the stars in the night sky.
Each twinkle, I pray lifts you up.
Suffering, your family has been through so much.
I can only hope, the burdens go, and you begin to fly.
I live like a fire fly, blinking, disappearing, reappearing.
Each light streak guides them if their paying attention.
Spiritually, I will do what I can, mind, body and spirit.
I pray they fly too, shining, blinking, persevering.
About this poem
I met this family via my son. I adopted them all in my heart secretly. Its kind of a tragic story that was unexpected and unfolding still. Each metaphoric phrase is deep rooting in my feelings. I can't say more, because I want to protect them. I want to help them, but they have their pride, and the help they wants, I can't fully give. Money is half of their problems, logic, planning, and asking for help is another. Pride is truly the heavy stone here for everyone involved. I pray for them every night. more »
