A Mans Requiem

Trapped in a cage of my own mind,
I scream for release but none can find,
A heart shattered by love's cruel fate,
Left alone to suffer, to ruminate.

Family drama and unexpected strife,
Leave me feeling like I've lost the fight,
The trauma too much to bear,
I'm left feeling lost, empty and scared.

I've failed in relationships, time and again,
Leaving me with a shattered heart and aching when,
I think of what could have been,
And how I've let the pain win.

I see no way out, no light in sight,
The weight of the world feels like it's taking flight,
I want to escape, to be free,
But the thought of suicide is all I can see.

But as I stand on the edge, ready to fall,
I know deep down, I want to stand tall,
I'll fight this battle, I'll overcome,
For I am stronger than I know, and I'll find my way home.
