Your prints

Victoria Amara 2000 (Nigeria)

You know I can still feel your hands gripping my innocent form.
Your snake-like eyes ravaging my body.
Your breath on my skin has never cleared from my memory.
I can still feel that slimy saliva on my lips.

I've tried so much to wipe them off me but they leave my skin hurting.
I've tried using hot water but they're like permanent glue stuck to my body.
I've tried carving them out but they leave a gruesome sight.
I've tried forgetting them but they seems to be part on my memory now.

I stay awake each night so you won't come unawares.
I force myself awake each time I manage to sleep,
Cos I feel your hands like little insect crawling on me.
Still my innocent mind never stop replaying the scene.

I blame myself for what you did.
I blame myself for being the one.
I blame myself for recalling the memories cos I can't help it.
I still blame myself for blaming me.

Just want to remind you that your prints are still there,
The memories ever fresh,
The pains never leaving,
The fear is a constant reminder that you're not far away.
